OUR STORY
Founded in 2019 by Joey Li and Thuta Khin, Leiho creates thoughtfully designed everyday essentials that prioritise comfort and kindness. Commited to giving back, they dedicate 5% of their monthly revenue to meaningfully collaborate with charities on helping empower and give hope to struggling communities.
2018 – WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Joey and Thuta met while studying for their master’s degrees at Bayes Business School in London. Both originally from Southeast Asia, they quickly bonded over their shared heritage and passion for blending Eastern values with Western culture to spark positive change in the UK.
2019 – THE WAKE-UP CALL & THE BIRTH OF LEIHO
While studying Marketing and Innovation, and living in London, Joey and Thuta became increasingly aware of the structural inequalities affecting struggling individuals. Whilst researching and trying to figure out ways to help, they met a gentlemen who was once homeless and he shared that “clean socks were among the most requested items in homeless shelters. It’s the simple things that make a big difference. From being able to brush your teeth in the morning, put on a clean pair of socks and pants. That sets you up for a more positive day.”
That insight sparked action Leiho was born with a simple mission: to sell socks that give back, using a buy one give one model to support people experiencing homelessness.
2020 – LOCKDOWN, PIVOTS & PROGRESS
Originally planning for retail and online sales, the pandemic forced the business to shift their efforts to e-commerce. Soon Leiho was named "Not On The High Street’s Small Businesses Under 30" awarded by Fearne Cotton and featured on BBC Radio 1 and in Grazia for their impactful charity collaborations during COVID-19 supporting struggling families and frontline homelessness services.
2021 – GROWING IMPACT
Leiho evolved from its original buy one give one model into a broader, more sustainable impact strategy. The brand now dedicates 5% of monthly revenue to fund community projects and partnerships. Making people feel a sense of belonging and part of a community. From working with Islington Council to employ individuals in making Leiho’s festive bestselling Christmas sock crackers, to hosting wellbeing days for charities, the brand doubled down on purpose-driven growth.
2025 – WELCOME TO THE HOUSE OF IMPACT
After years of expansion and learning, Leiho launches House of Impact, a B2B platform that helps businesses create meaningful, ethical merchandise. From custom bamboo socks for global tech giants like Spotify, LinkedIn, and HubSpot to collaborations with FMCG brands like Whitebox and Brixton Brewery, Leiho is shaping a more thoughtful future one kind essential at a time.Message from founders: We started Leiho with a simple purpose: to bring more meaning, kindness, and hope into everyday life. We believe that real change doesn’t happen all at once. It’s all of our little steps put together that makes a big difference.Every product we design is something you’d already have in your wardrobe just with a little more purpose and one that lasts. By choosing to give back through your everyday basics, we can collectively support those in need and help shape a brighter, more compassionate world.
With love, Joey & Thuta x
"When we were out on the streets handing out a hot meal or donating clean clothes to a shelter, we really made the conscious effort to get to the know the people we were supporting. After getting to know a few people and hearing their stories, it wasn’t long until we saw clearly that what humans need most to thrive is that sense of belonging, self worth and confidence. Just a simple belief in yourself that you can do it and if you don’t have that self belief then at least having someone on the sidelines to cheer you on. We make sure Leiho stands on the sidelines for those who need it most."
Joey Li, CEO & Co-Founder at Leiho

"We want to help vulnerable individuals build brighter futures. We understand that sometimes we all can use a helping hand when going through difficult times. Through partnerships with impactful organisations like the Baytree Centre, Home-Start Islington, and SPEAR, our goal is to demonstrate how even the simplest items like the socks you put on in the morning or the candle you light in your living room can make a meaningful difference."
