72 pairs of socks donated to Barons Court Project
"To enable everyone to live the life they deserve"
Barons Court Project is a day centre for people who are vulnerable to mental illness and homelessness in Hammersmith and Fulham. Established in 1985 by a group of Psychiatrists and Social Workers, Barons Court Project works to provide space for people to meet their basic needs; showering, laundry, and eating. They also provide a range of wellness activities that work to help these individuals reduce stress, increase education and life skills for employment, and they offer support sessions for individuals to receive advice or assistance that they may need. Barons Court Project has been serving the community of Hammersmith and Fulham for 35 years. In this time they have worked with thousands of individuals suffering from homelessness or mental health issues. They own a four-story townhouse that has become home to many who don’t have one or do not feel at home themselves. This house serves as a safe environment where people can truly be themselves and feel part of the community.
As of 2019, they have provided 4,600 meals, over 2000 items of clothing, more than 1500 showers, 500 toiletries, and have offered laundry services to over 400 guests. They work hard to make sure their guests have what they need to feel nourished, clean, acknowledged, and feel a sense of belonging. We are honored to have donated 72 pairs of thermal socks to Barons Court Project where these will be distributed amongst their guests.
Additionally, as a result of the pandemic, they have started offering virtual activities in order to assure that none of their guests are left feeling isolated during these hard times. Barons Court Project is dedicated to finding ways to assist those in need of their services.
