How our 2nd Impact Making Workshop with The Lewis Foundation went!

Yesterday, Thursday 13th July we hosted our second Do Good, Feel Great Impact Making Workshop at PIE Factory in Soho. This month we supported the incredible charity The Lewis Foundation who source, package and hand deliver free gifts and support packs to adult cancer patients in hospitals every week.

Last night was all about helping to pack support packages for cancer patients who might find it difficult to buy items or simply cannot afford to. Our community were hard at work and packed over 100 care packages by the end of the evening!

Here’s what happened throughout the event!

6pm - Our community started arriving and we enjoyed some delicious wine, Sassy Cider and nibbles sponsored by Savoursmiths. Everyone mingled and chatted before we got to work!

At 7pm we split into teams, where everyone individually packed care packages. Our care packages were split into four.

Care Package 1: Women’s Self-care (Shower and beauty products)

Care Package 2: Men’s Self-care (Shower and self-care products)

Care Package 3: Wellbeing (Mugs, tea, heated eye masks)

Care Package 4: Creative (Mindful colouring books and hand cream)

Inside the care packages were donated shower gels, face cleansing bars and beauty products from the wonderful Nivea, scrubs and shower gels from Live in the Light, heated masks from the fabulous Spacemasks and mugs from CW on Demand.

Everyone also had the chance to write a little personal note to say who packed their care package!

After all the packing was finished we opened up the floor to the wonderful Lorraine Lewis, co-founder of The Lewis Foundation and Ryan Riley, author, cook and food stylist of award-winning Life Kitchen, alongside our very own Joey Li. Life Kitchen is a not-for-profit cookery school for people whose taste has been affected by cancer or cancer treatment. We heard all about their incredible journeys of working with people with cancer. We opened up the floor and heard from some of our community too!

All in all, it was a fabulous evening, bringing together our community and offering a helping hand to The Lewis Foundation.
