A Leiho x Baytree Centre Creative Wellbeing Workshop for Women in Need
We are thrilled to have ran a creative wellbeing workshop for women supported by The Baytree Centre, bringing together mums from a diverse range of backgrounds to express themselves creatively through a session of 'Sip & Paint' with painting suppliers provided by Leiho and soft drinks kindly provided by Karma drinks.
We understood that painting is a therapeutic way of self and emotional expression - the creative process can promote mindfulness allowing the painter to focus on the present moment and relax, even if it's just for a moment. It can empower individuals to gain a sense of accomplishment through self reflection and foster healing. This is why we thought this would be a perfect wellbeing workshop for the ladies at The Baytree Centre as their busy lives mostly comprise of family, children and working (sometimes) multiple part time jobs to make ends meet.
The theme of the session was to paint what makes them happy and with no surprise, the creative flow kicked in and they went on to create their masterpieces.
The participants did paintings of their homes, children, favourite foods and even holidays. One of the ladies said that she had never really thought about what makes her happy so this was a wonderful opportunity for her to express herself.
It's little moments like this that we hope empower the ladies to do what makes them happy and incorporate small activities that can uplift their days. From this workshop, we ended up hiring two of the ladies for our Candles Making Workshop!
